Halpatter Brewing Company – Lake City – 2017. Halpatter Brewing Company will be opening its doors spring/summer of 2017, as Columbia County’s first craft brewery. Holiday Inn Express Pensacola Downtown – Pensacola – Spring 2017. Pensacola’s downtown core will soon have its first new hotel in more than three decades, the Holiday Inn Express Pensacola Downtown. The new 106-room, five-story hotel will be within walking distance of a brand-new ferry service that will carry passengers between the city and Pensacola Beach.
Sheraton Bay Point – Panama City Beach – 2017. LEGOLAND Beach Retreat – Orlando – 2017. LEGOLAND Florida Resort is expanding their overnight offerings with a new LEGOLAND Beach Retreat, coming mid-2017. The new accommodations will include 83 single-story duplexes, a themed pool, sandy play area and new restaurant. Conveniently located adjacent to the theme park, the LEGOLAND Beach Retreat invites guests to relax beneath brightly-colored bungalows or dine below the new LEGO lighthouse, which will feature a buffet restaurant, pool bar and a beach-themed space for kids.
The Delaney Hotel – Orlando – Spring 2017. The Delaney Hotel will be a 54-room boutique hotel in SoDo, expected to be open by late spring 2017. It will offer unique high-tech conveniences for guests, from remote check-in, to digital tablet-based concierge services in every room, smart phone room keys and smart TVs.
Margaritaville Resort Orlando – Kissimmee – 2017. Margaritaville Resort Orlando is expected to open in late 2017. The waterfront destination resort will offer 187 rooms, 1,000 Margaritaville-themed vacation homes and 300 timeshare units. A new dining and entertainment district is also planned to accommodate guests, along with a 12-acre water park, a wellness center, miles of fitness trails and a destination water taxi system.
The Polite Pig – Orlando – Spring 2017. The Polite Pig, sister restaurant of The Ravenous Pig in Winter Park, is set to open in Disney Springs in spring 2017. Led by local celebrity chefs James and Julie Petrakis, The Polite Pig will feature a variety of wood-fired, smoked and grilled items as well as introduce an innovative beverage program that serves all drinks on tap, including Cask & Larder beer, wine and cocktails.
The Edison – Orlando – 2017. The Edison, similar to its sister location in Los Angeles, will open its doors this spring at Disney Springs. Themed around a 1920s-era electric company with live entertainment, classic American food and craft cocktails, the industrial gothic space will have 35-foot ceilings and an atmospheric decor.
Wyndham Grand Resort – Clearwater – January 2017. When it opens in January, the high-end Wyndham Grand will be the biggest hotel/resort on Clearwater Beach: 343 luxuriously appointed guest rooms;
spectacular waterfront vistas; waterside bar and restaurant; 22,000-square feet of flexible meeting space, including the area’s largest ballroom.
Fenway Hotel – Dunedin – February 2017. The 1920’s-era building, a Dunedin icon, returns to its original role as a hotel. Developer Mainsail Lodging is transforming the Mediterranean-style, waterfront building into a member of the Marriott International Autograph Collection. The reincarnated Fenway, which will feature a strong historical influence, is on pace to open in February 2017.
Hyatt Place – Downtown St. Pete – 2017. In late July, the hotel had begun fourth-floor construction on its way to 14 stories. The 175-room hotel is part of a larger mixed-use development—located in the very heart of the city’s urban core—called One St. Petersburg, which includes a 41-story condominium tower (the tallest in St. Pete) and extensive retail.
Allure Suites Hotel: Beachfront Resort – St. Pete Beach – 2017. Local owners are renovating and rebranding Plaza Beach Hotel into an independent condo-hotel, expanding from 39 to 66 units. This product will consist mostly of two-bedroom suites, as well as some one-bedroom units.
AC Hotel by Marriott – Tampa – December 2017. European visitors will find a familiar name — AC Hotel by Marriott — among Tampa Bay’s hotels. This 175-room property appeals to the chic traveler in search of design innovation. The property is currently under construction with a planned opening date of December 2017.
The Heights Market Food Hall – Tampa – 2017. The Heights Market will feature an open floor plan with communal seating surrounded by restaurants featuring Tampa chefs and restaurateurs. This industrial market environment will offer a mix of prepared foods, meats and cheeses, produce, beer, wine, specialty cocktails, fresh flowers and desserts. In addition, The Heights Market includes an interactive kitchen that hosts educational cooking classes and pop-up dinners in collaboration with the Heights Market tenants.
Marriott SpringHill Suites – New Smyrna Beach – June 2017. The hotel will be in an unbeatable location on the beach end of the town’s main street, Flagler Avenue. The beachfront hotel is a new-build, but has been designed to blend in with the town’s wooden frame architecture. There will be an outdoor pool and patio area, spacious suites, comfortable lobby, on-site dining and a bar, free Wi-Fi, a fitness center, free breakfast and covered parking.
River Deck New Smyrna Beach – In addition to a new hotel joining the community, new restaurants will be making New Smyrna Beach their home as well. The Ocean Deck family will open the new ‘River Deck New Smyrna Beach’ in spring 2017, in a pristine location on Riverside Drive overlooking the Indian River, which is rich in marine, bird and wildlife. The restaurant will have a tropical theme, with a sandy beach and tiki bar. Set to be a destination restaurant, the range of dishes on offer will include favorites like fresh seafood, grilled chicken, steaks and burgers inspired by the flavors of the Caribbean. River Deck New Smyrna Beach is set to be the place to be for a cocktail, watching the river dolphins play in the Intracoastal Waterway.
Florida Roadhouse – Edgewater – Early 2017. Florida Roadhouse will be a new addition to the restaurant scene in Edgewater, New Smyrna Beach’s neighboring community. Roadhouse’s signature steaks, fresh seafood, burgers, sandwiches and salads will be served in an old Florida atmosphere.
Half Wall Beer House – New Smyrna Beach – Summer 2017. The Half Wall Beer House will be opening a new brewery on State Road 44, New Smyrna Beach. This will be the second site in the beach town for the small Half Wall Beer House chain, but the new opening will also brew and serve their own craft beer on the premises, alongside up to 100 other beers on tap.
Island Grove Wine Company at Formosa Gardens – Kissimmee – Spring 2017. Island Grove Wine Company at Formosa Gardens is expected to open spring of 2017. Surrounded by lush botanical gardens, the sustainable winery and microbrewery will feature a bistro, winery tours, tastings, over 3,000 sq. feet of meeting space for corporate meetings, weddings and events and a theater room that can accommodate up to 30 people. The botanical garden will grow organic fruits and vegetables, while maintaining sustainable agricultural practices that include biodynamic practices, permaculture and hydroponics.
The Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate – Kissimmee – 2017. This resort will break ground in 2017 for an extensive $40 million expansion project. The significant redevelopment includes: 23,000 square feet of additional pool deck and recreational space, installation of Kissimmee’s only resort wave pool, a new 93-room property villa building and a redesign of Trevi’s Restaurant that will include an outdoor garden terrace and bar. The expansion will also include the addition of 100,000 square feet of expanded event lawn and conference center space, further establishing the resort as an all-in-one luxury reprieve for guests.
Zota Beach Resort – Bradenton – 2017. The area’s newest luxury beach resort, formerly the “Hilton Longboat Key”, is set to open in early 2017. The $24 million property offers a secluded beachfront setting, stylish pool area, restaurant and chic wine bar, over 2,500 square feet of event space and 187 guest rooms and suites. Zota room rates will range from a minimum of $269 a night to a maximum of $539.
Hotel Key West – Stock Island – 2017. A new boutique Hotel Key West at the 220-slip Stock Island Marina is to open in early 2017, with 100 waterview rooms and suites and over-sized private terraces. First-floor rooms are to have private outdoor showers, with luxury suites offering soaking tubs and large balconies. Architecture is reminiscent of a classic wharf building. Rooms are to offer large flat-screen TVs, luxurious bedding and artisanal bath and body essentials. The property is managed by Hostmark Hospitality Group of Schaumburg, Illinois, and under development alongside the Stock Island Marina Village, the district that resort executives have dubbed the “Brooklyn of Key West” because of its transformation. Boca Raton Mandarin Oriental – Boca Raton – 2017. The Boca Raton Mandarin Oriental is set to debut in downtown Boca Raton in late 2017. The 158-room property will include two adjacent towers that will form part of an upscale mixed-use development featuring 65,000 square feet of luxury lifestyle retail, as well as a world-class private club, which will offer social, fitness, spa and championship golf amenities. The property will also offer extensive banqueting and meeting space, including an expansive 4,500 square-foot ballroom and a variety of adaptable conference rooms.
1000 North – Jupiter – 2017. The Jupiter waterfront will welcome 1000 North, a new restaurant partly-owned by NBA star Michael Jordan, in 2017. The first floor of the 340-seat restaurant, which also will have an indoor and outdoor bar, will be open to the public, while the 1,500-square-foot second floor will be dedicated to members and their guests only. The second floor will have a 450-square-foot outdoor patio for food and beverages.
Delray Beach Marketplace – Delray Beach – 2016/2017. The Delray Beach Marketplace will add four new restaurants in late 2016 and early 2017. These include Hoffman’s Chocolates, a popular chocolate chain based in Greenacres; Lucille’s Bad to the Bone BBQ, which also has locations in Boca Raton and Boynton Beach; Batch Gastropub, a Miami eatery opening its second location; and Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, a California-based brand with several locations nationwide.
Steam Horse Brewing – West Palm Beach – 2017. West Palm Beach will soon welcome its first-ever brewery. Set to open in West Palm Beaches’ new Warehouse District in early 2017, Steam Horse Brewing promises a wide variety of flavors that can be enjoyed from its 6,000 square-foot brewery and tasting room. Steam Horse will join The Palm Beaches’ booming craft beer scene, which includes native breweries such as Funky Buddha and Barrel of Monks in Boca Raton, Saltwater in Delray Beach, Due South, Copperpoint and Devour in Boynton Beach, plus Tequesta Brewing in Tequesta and Twisted Trunk in the Gardens.
Oceans Edge Key West Hotel & Marina – Key West – December 2016. The 20-acre Oceans Edge Key West Hotel & Marina is scheduled to open in mid-December with 175 suites and rooms and six pools. Spacious units range from 382 to 575 square feet. An on-site marina has 111 wet and 52 dry slips.
Hotel Key West – Key West – 2017. The 100-room boutique Hotel Key West, located within the Stock Island Marina Village complex, is to open in the first quarter of 2017. All rooms will have water views and property amenities include a lush pool area, water sports options and a full-service restaurant. The $38 million hotel is to include flexible small group, incentive and event space. It will offer the Keys’ largest deep-water marina, featuring 220 slips and will be able to accommodate vessels up to 300 feet long.
