As the world gets ready for the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ starting this month, the Sunshine State boasts an array of Sports Camps suitable for all ages and abilities, making it the perfect destination for those looking to keep fit on holiday or just try out a new activity. From a world-class rowing facility to America’s largest baseball academy, Florida has plenty to offer.

Visit Sarasota County

Sarasota County is quickly gaining a reputation for hosting international competitions. Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota is home to a world-class aquatics and rowing facility, the only International Rowing Federation approved course in North America. The 2,000m regatta course famously hosted the 2017 World Rowing Championships, the first United States destination to host the event since 1994. This year, the venue will host the Masters World Rowing Regatta in 2018.

New Smyrna Beach

Throughout June, the 6th Annual New Smyrna Beach Leisure Services Paddleboard Camp sees a fun-filled week on the water, where children will learn the fundamentals of paddle boarding and water safety with a little surf/beach fun in the middle. Boards are included in the price of the class. Once participants are comfortable, they’ll head out for daily trips on the Indian River and nearby islands for wildlife encounters with dolphins, manatees, and sea turtles. Paddleboards and all necessary safety equipment are included. For a week-long adventure on the water, prices start from 138 GBP for non-residents.

Fort Myers & Sanibel

Perfect your batting, pitching and fielding skills at America’s largest baseball camp – The USA Baseball Academy. Weekly off season summer training camps in downtown Fort Myers are led by some of the best baseball coaches in Fort Myers and former professional players. 18 hours of instruction for three skill sessions across 4 weeks start from 238 GBP per person.

Greater Fort Lauderdale

Marty’s Basketball Camp is specifically designed for children aged 5 – 15 years old. Kids learn in a safe and fun environment whilst being coached like a true All-Star player. The rewarding and challenging programme includes shooting, passing, ball handling, defence and rebounding stations to help them find the ‘key’ to their game.  A special awards ceremony takes place on the Friday after the tournament where all campers play for the chance to win the League Championships. Sessions are on June 18-22 and June 25-29 and cost 150 GBP per session.

The Florida Keys & Key West

Ladies Let’s Go Fishing! is the popular Keys Saltwater Weekend Seminar held October 19- 21, 2018 which reels in women fishing fans to learn or polish their angling skills during an award-winning weekend seminar. More than 8,000 women graduates have immersed themselves in the annual light-hearted, yet skill-heavy programme to learn and hone abilities in offshore, bottom, inshore and fly fishing.
